Two paint mechanics die in Khulna
KHULNA, Nov 6, 2020 (BSS)- Two paint mechanics died and another is in critical condition after drinking poisonous chemical at Government Boyra Women College in the early hours of today.
The deceased were identified as Parvez Biswas, 29, son of Abu Taleb Biswas and Rafikul Biswas, 40, son of Rezaul Karim, residents of Pabla Karikorpara under Daulatpur Police Station in the city.
The unconscious paint mechanic Shamim, 32, son of Momrez Biswas, is undergoing treatment at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH).
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Daulatpur Police Station Kazi Mostak Ahmed said three paint mechanics get sick after drinking poisonous chemical thinking alcohol which they stole from the Chemistry Laboratory room at the Science Building of the Government Women College at Boyra while painting it yesterday.
“The trio drank the poisonous chemical liquor at Rafiqul’s residence and became sick,” the OC said, adding that they were rushed to KMCH around 1.00am where the duty doctors declared Rafiqul Biswas died.
Parvez Biswas died around 4am while undergoing treatment there and another mechanic Shamim is in critical condition, he continued.
The bodies were handed over to their families after post mortem.
