COVID-19 positive cases reach 21,640 in Ctg district
CHATTOGRAM, Nov 6, 2020 (BSS) – The number of coronavirus (COVID-19) positive cases reached 21640 marks as 86 new patients were diagnosed with the viral disease.
Civil surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi told BSS that among the total 21,640 coronavirus infected persons, 15,883 are the residents of the port city and the rest 5,732 are residents of different upazilas of the district.
A total of 86 people were detected positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours after testing 1,248 samples in five COVID-19 laboratories in Chattogram district.
Among the newly detected patients, 71 are from Chattogram city and 15 from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.
With the healing of 82 more infected patients, the total number of recovered COVID-19 patients rose to 16864.
“The healed patients were discharged from different home isolations and Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospitals of the district as two consecutive real-time PCR tests were found negative,” he said.
Besides, 1,114 patients are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals in the port city.
