GAIBANDHA, Nov 6, 2020 (BSS) – The construction work of brick-built houses
for the homeless and landless people in Sadullapur upazila here began
yesterday under Ashrayan Project, creating much enthusiasm among the
beneficiaries.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Abdul Matin formally inaugurated the
construction work of the houses through laying foundation stone as the chief
guest.
The houses are being built under Ashrayan Project of the government at the
cost of Tk around 40 lakh, sources said.
With the completion of construction, the houses would be handed over to 15
homeless people of the upazila, said Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Nabi
Neoaj.
Earlier, the DC exchanged views with the homeless and landless people.
During the view exchange, the homeless people thanked the government and
expressed their gratefulness to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as she has taken
initiative of constructing houses for them.
Upazila Chairman Shahriar Khan Biplob, upazila level officials, political
leaders, local elite and media men were present on the occasion.
