Jahanara, Salma fails to make first encounter memorable
DHAKA, Nov 5, 2020 (BSS) – The first encounter between Salma Khatun and Jahanara Alam in Women’s T20 Challenge, considered as the Women’s IPL failed to generate any excitement.
Salma Khatun’s Trailblazers however registered a nine-wicket win over Jahanara’s Velocity team in a one-sided contest at Sharjah on Thursday.
In the match, Salma Khatun, who is playing the tournament for the first time got the opportunity to bowl two overs in which he conceded just four runs but couldn’t take any wicket.
Jahanara meanwhile scored one run in batting but didn’t get the opportunity to bowl.
Velocity who recorded a five-wicket win over Supernovas in the first match elected to bat first in their second game but was skittled out for just 47 runs in 15.1 overs.
Trailblazers’ Sophie Ecclestone ripped through the batting line up with 4-9.
Trailblazers later reached the winning target with 49-1 in just 7.5 overs. Their opener Dreanda Dottin top scored with 29 not out. Richa Ghosh was not out on 13 while the only out batter was their captain Smriti Mandhana who made 6 runs.
