JS body for taking legal actions for fake persons in FF list

DHAKA, Nov 5, 2020 (BSS) – The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Liberation War Affairs Ministry has recommended taking necessary actions by identifying fake persons in the list of freedom fighters(FFs).

They came up with the recommendation at a meeting of parliamentary standing committee on Liberation War Affairs ministry that was held today at the Jatiya Sangsad bhaban.

Chairman of the committee Shahjahan Khan presided over the meeting.

Committee members Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque and Moslem Uddin Ahmed attended the meeting.

The meeting was told that in order to question the role of the freedom fighters, the anti-independence elements have been included in the list of heroic freedom fighters while the BNP-Jamaat was in power.

The committee recommended taking necessary actions by identifying the fake people included in the list of freedom fighters.

It was informed at the meeting that activities are underway with the help of local Upazila Nirbahi Officers to publish the complete list of heroic freedom fighters.

If there is a delay in publishing the real list at once, the list can be published in phases if necessary.

The parliamentary committee watchdog recommended paying the medical expenses to the freedom fighters by the Muktijoddha Welfare Trust at a monthly rate as required.

The meeting also discussed in details the progress of publishing the complete list of freedom fighters, the progress of the plans adopted by the Jatiya Muktijoddha Council (Jamuka) for the implementation of the spirit of the Liberation War and the manpower structure and recruitment rules of the Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust.

Officials of the ministry and Parliament Secretariat were present on the occasion.
