Speaker urges students to build themselves capable of building ‘Sonar Bangla’

DHAKA, Nov 5, 2020 (BSS) – Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury today said the students should go ahead with the goal of building ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

“The students should go forward with the goal of building a hunger and poverty-free developed Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation,” she said.

She was speaking virtually at the inauguration ceremony of ‘Southeast University’s fresh Semester 2020’ here as the chief guest.

She wished the new students overall success in their future endeavors.

Students with higher education opportunities are fortunate as many are still deprived of this opportunity, she said.

The speaker also urged the students to show due respect to the rights of the backward poor people and fulfill their responsibilities towards backward people.

She called upon the students to make due contribution to the firm conviction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to build a hunger and poverty-free, happy-prosperous and developed Bangladesh.

With Southeast University Vice Chancellor Prof AFM Mafizul Islam in the chair, the programme was attended, among others, by Southeast University Board of Trustees Chairman Md Rezaul Karim as the guest of honor.

Southeast University director Mohammad Imtiaz conducted it while Southeast University Registrar Major General (Retd) Qazi Fakhruddin Ahmed and Advisor ANM Mishkat Uddin also spoke on the occasion.
