NARSINGDI, Nov 05, 2020(BSS) – Harvesting of early variety of Aman paddy
began in the district with much enthusiasm.
Deputy Director of Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) of Narsingdi
Shovan Kumar Dhar told BSS that so far 10 to 15 percent Aman paddy has
already been harvested in the six upazilas of the district.
Shovan Kumar Dhar said farmers of the district have cultivated 41,250
hectares of land this year and they are happy with good yield of the food
grain.
BADC supplied quality seeds to the farmers at fair prices and different
commercial banks, including Bangladesh Krishi Bank, disbursed easy-term loan
to the farmers.
In addition, DAE has been providing training among the farmers for
adopting modern technologies in paddy cultivation.
