Survey institute to get new multi-storey building in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI, Nov 5, 2020 (BSS)- The century-old Engineering and Survey Institute is going to get its new multi-storey building within next 18 months.
The Department of Technical Education under the Technical and Madrasha Education Division will construct the building at Kharkhari area in the city with an estimated cost of around Taka 4.20 crore.
Officials said the five-storey building will accommodate a number of academic rooms and laboratories. Rajshahi Zila Parishad Chairman Muhammad Ali Sarker and Director of Bangladesh Land Survey Education Development Project Dr Shafique Uddin jointly inaugurated the building construction works on Wednesday.
Assistant Project Director Dr Nazrul Islam, Executive Engineer of Department of Education Engineering Rejaul Islam and Principal of the survey institute Mahmud Hossain were present on the occasion.
Upon successful implementation of the project by mid 2022, the academic building will furthermore infuse dynamism into the generation process of skilled manpower in the land survey sector, said Dr Shafique Uddin.
