DNCC finds Aedes larvae at 95 houses, establishments fines 1.53 lakh
DHAKA, Nov 3, 2020 (BSS) – Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) today found Aedes mosquito larvae at 95 houses and establishments during the second day of a combing operation to destroy breeding grounds of the mosquitoes.
During the operation, DNCC mobile court also fined owners of 12 houses and establishments around Tk 1.53 lakh for having larvae and warned owners of other houses, said a press release.
The 10-day combing operation began at all 54 wards under the city corporation area simultaneously to protect the city dwellers from the mosquito menace.
The DNCC team visited some 13,162 houses and establishments during the drive while stagnant water was found at 7,940 houses and establishments, added the release.
The drive was conducted between 9am and 12 noon simultaneously at all 54 wards under the DNCC area.
The 10-day operation will be conducted from 9am to 12 noon everyday, dividing a ward into ten sectors and a sector into 10 sub-sectors.
