ARREST-DRUG –SYLHET
4 held with yaba and wine in Sylhet
SYLHET, Nov 3, 2020 (BSS) – Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-9 in separate drives arrested four alleged drug-peddlers with huge quantities of Yaba tablets and foreign wine in Sylhet last night.
The arrestees were identified as Shiblu Ahmed, 30, Md. Afzal Hossain, 20, Saiful Islam, 44 and Abdul Kadir, 42 , a RAB-9 press release said today.
Acting on a tip off, a team of the RAB-9 conducted a raid in Majumdari area at around 11.00 am last night and arrested Shiblu with 1552 pieces of yaba tablets.
In another drive, conducted at Baluchar area under Companiganj upazila at around 11.50 pm the team arrested Afzal with 94 bottles of foreign wine.
Earlier, another team of RAB in separate drive at around 4.30 pm arrested Kadir and Saiful from Tahirpur upazila with 2757 pieces of yaba tablets.
The detainees were handed over to respective police stations and separate cases were filed in this connection
