One jailed for keeping yaba in C’nawabganj
CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Nov 2, 2020 (BSS) – A court here today sentenced one person to 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment and fined him Tk 5,000, in default,to face three months more in jail for keeping yaba tablets.
Additional district and sessions judge Md Rabiul Islam announced the verdict in the afternoon in absence of the convict Ataur Rahman, 56, son of Gias Uddin of Boglauri village under Shibganj upazila in the district.
According to the prosecution, members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Ataur Rahman with 1,417 pieces of yaba tablet from Umarpur Toll Plaza area under Shyampur union of Shibganj upazila in the district on December 25, 2018.
