RCC adopts daylong programmes to observe jail killing day
RAJSHAHI, Nov 2, 2020 (BSS) – Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has chalked
out a daylong programme to observe the mournful Jail Killing Day tomorrow to
pay rich tribute to the four national leaders assassinated inside the Dhaka
Central Jail on this day in 1975.
At 9 am, a mourning rally will be marched to the grave of Shaheed AHM
Kamaruzzaman, one of the four national leaders, in city’s Kadirganj family
graveyard through maintaining health safety measures amid the novel
coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic situation.
City Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton along with his office colleagues and
officers and employees will play wreaths on the grave and offer prayers.
At 10 am, a blood donation programme will be held at the city bhaban
premises that will be followed by a discussion meeting and doa mahfil at the
annex bhaban conference hall. After Johr prayers, milad and doa mahfil will
be held at Sonamasjid Jame Mosque and city bhaban wakita mosque and other
ward level mosques.
City and district units of Bangladesh Awami League and its associate
organisations will also observe the day through various programmes paying due
homage to the martyred.
Marking the day, scores of wreaths will be placed on the grave of Shaheed
AHM Kamaruzzaman besides mourning rallies and garlanding portraits of Father
of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and four national leaders at
Awami League party office.
Marking the day, AL city units will organise a discussion at the party
office.
In observance of the day, Awami League will also arrange Quran Khwani, Doa
Mahfil and feed the destitute at all 30 wards of the city.
Besides, Divisional and district administrations, police administrations
Rajshahi University, Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology,
Rajshahi Medical University, Zila Parishad, Bangladesh Silk Development Board
and various other educational and financial institutions including Rajshahi
Krishi Unnayan Bank will also observe the day in befitting manners.
