Science, technology fair ends in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, OCT 30, 2020 (BSS) – The 3-day National Science And Technology Fair-2016 ended at Gaibandha Govt. Boys’ High School on Thursday with participation of the enthusiastic students, teachers and the visitors.

District administration arranged the fair with the theme ‘Modern Waste Management, the usage of Science and Technology’ as part of the directives of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The objectives of the fair were to widely spread a message about the significance of scientific applications in the daily life of the people and display all the activities, efforts and achievements in the field of science for human welfare.

A concluding ceremony was also held at the hall room of the school in the afternoon with Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Alamgir Kabir Saikat in the chair.

Deputy Commissioner Abdul Matin attended the function and addressed it as chief guest and General Secretary of district Awami League Abu Bakar Siddique was present at the event as special guest.

The function was also addressed among others by District Education Officer Md. Enayet Hossain, Head Teacher of the school Shahana Banu, Head Teacher of Gaibandha Government Girls’ High School Shushanta Kumar Dev, while Assistant Commissioner Nusrat Jahan was the moderator.

DC Abdul Matin urged all to patronize the budding scientists so that they could come up with innovative projects and research properly to give something for the nation to push forward its development.

Later, DC went round 48 stalls, set up in the fair and exchanged views with stall organizers.

Later, DC formally distributed prizes among the organizers of stalls which stood first, second and third.

The consolation prizes were also given among the stalls organizers from the district administration.

A large number of people including children were seen visiting the fair with keenness.
