Community Policing Day tomorrow
DHAKA, Oct 30, 2020 (BSS) – The Community Policing Day will be observed throughout the country tomorrow amid enthusiasm and with the theme -‘Mujib Borsher Mulmantra – community policing sorbotro’.
President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave separate messages on the eve of the day, according to a police department release issued here today.
Home Minister M Asaduzzaman Khan and the Public Security Division secretary also gave messages on the occasion.
The day will be observed by all the district, metropolitan, railway, highway and industrial police units through different programmes following necessary health guidelines during the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
Certificates and crests will be awarded to the top policing officers and members of the community police. All the concerned police units will campaign about community policing day on their respective facebook pages.
Public and private television channels will arrange talk shows on the significance of the day. Special supplements also will be published on the mainstream national dailies.
Community policing is being considered as one of the foremost strategies for containing the criminal activities in Bangladesh as elsewhere in the world.
