Mashrafe honours freedom fighters on Vijaya Dashami

DHAKA, Oct 27, 2020 (BSS)—Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, the lawmaker of Narail-2 constituency and the former skipper of Bangladesh national cricket team has sent sweets and flowers as gifts to the homes of the freedom fighters on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami.

In a congratulatory message sent with the gift, Mashrafe said, “We will forever remember your outstanding contribution in our liberation war. You have sacrificed a lot for our beloved motherland Bangladesh. You are heroic freedom fighters, the best child of Bengali mother, the pride of Narail district, the inspiration of our path. Today on this auspicious occasion of Shubha Vijaya, my best wishes to you. I wish you and your family good health and well-being.”

Jamil Ahmed Sunny and Shakil Ahmed, personal assistants of Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, MP, went to the residence of the freedom fighter Rabindranath Sarkar in Mahishkhola in Narail Municipality with the greetings of Mashrafe Bin Mortaza.

Rabindranath Sarkar, the valiant freedom fighter, said in an emotional voice after receiving Mashrafe’s greetings, “We are very happy to receive this gift of our MP Mashrafe.”

Sanat Kumar Biswas said, “The child of our Maijpara Union, the pride of all Bangladesh is our Mashrafe. We, the people of Maijpara and Narail, always pray for him.”

Ajay Kanti Majumder, a gallant freedom fighter of Lohagarh, said, “Mashrafe is the pride of our area. He is keeping everyone informed, giving everyone the respect they deserve. This is the expectation of the people of the area.

Retired Additional Secretary Bijan Vaishya, who came to his father-in-law’s house in Narail from his district Netrokona on Puja holiday was overwhelmed by the courtesy of local MP Mashrafe Bin Mortaza.

He said, “He brought up the golden days for Narail, the way Bangladesh saw a cricket renaissance under his leadership is noteworthy.”

Led by District Swechchhasebak League President Tariqul Islam Ujjwal and General Secretary SM Palash, the leaders of the Swechchhasebak League delivered these greetings to the homes of the freedom fighters.

Cricketer Mashrafe has always called the freedom fighters as the real heroes of Bangladesh. Everyone is aware of his respect and passion for the heroic freedom fighters. This year’s greeting gift is one of his unique gestures.

Mashrafe however is in Dhaka to take care of his two child—Humaira Mortaza and Sahel Mortaza, who are diagnosed with Covid-19. They are now under treatment.
