Haji Selim’s driver on remand over assault of Navy officer
DHAKA, Oct 26, 2020 (BSS) – Mizanur Rahman, driver of Haji Selim MP, has been placed on one-day remand over beating a navy officer.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sufian Mohammad Noman passed the order as inspector of Dhanmondi Police Station Ashfaq Rajib, also investigation officer of the case, produced him before the court this afternoon with five-day remand plea.
Lieutenant Wasif Ahmed Khan filled a case with the Dhanmondi Police Station against Haji Selim’s son Erfan Selim, his bodyguard – Mohammad Zahid and AB Siddique Dipu and driver Mizanur Rahman for assaulting him.
According to the case statement, a private car hit the motorcycle of Wasif in Kolabagan area in the city around 7:45 pm yesterday when he along with his wife was going to their Mohammadpur residence.
Later, some people came out of the car and physically assaulted the navy official.
