One Bangladeshi peacekeeper in Africa killed in road accident

DHAKA, Oct 26, 2020 (BSS) – One Peacekeeper of Bangladesh Army was
killed and another two were critically injured in Central African
Republic in a road crash today.

The deceased was Lance Corporal (Driver) M Abdullah Al Mamun, 26,
said a press release of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Critically injured Sergeant M Abdus Samad, Artillery, 35 and soldier
Mokhlesur Rahman Bir, 31, were admitted to UN level-II hospital in
Bangui.

A specialized team of Bangladeshi peacekeepers with an
expeditionary mission to the Central African Republic left the port of
Kagu for Bangui on October 25.

On October 26, a water baujer lost control and collided with a
bridge’s railing and plunged into a nearby 20-25-foot deep ditch as
the road connecting the risky bridge was slippery and muddy.
