Programs to be taken for Bangabandhu’s birth centenary, golden jubilee of independence
DHAKA, Oct 25, 2020 (BSS) – Preparations are being taken to hold special programs on the occasion of concluding function of the birth centenary celebration of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and inaugurating the golden jubilee celebrations of the Independence.
This was informed at a coordination meeting between the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee and representatives of other ministries and agencies concerned with the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, according to a press release.
Chairman of the National Implementation Committee and National Professor Rafiqul Islam presided over the meeting while Chief Coordinator of the committee Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury moderated the zoom meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Rafiqul Islam said that the concluding ceremony of the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation and the inauguration ceremony of the Golden Jubilee of the Independence would be implemented through a comprehensive program as per the directions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury informed the meeting that in the current situation of outbreak of Coronavirus, according to the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, public health issues are being given utmost importance.
He said that as per the direction of the Prime Minister, special programs are being taken on the occasion of concluding the birth centenary celebrations on March 17, 2021 and inaugurating the golden jubilee celebrations of the Independence on March 26, 2021.
At the meeting, it was informed that the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs would take up a detailed program to celebrate the golden jubilee of Independence.
Among others, former minister AMA Muhith, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, former minister Asaduzzaman Noor, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam and State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain were present on the occasion.
