KHULNA , Oct 25, 2020 (BSS) – With decreasing trend of the daily number of coronavirus (COVID-19) infected persons in recent days, the recovery rate also rises and currently it stands at 94.02 per cent in Khulna division.
“A total of 21,372 out of total 22,730 COVID-19 infected patients healed till Saturday and the recovery rate of 94.02 percent,” Divisional Director (Health) in Khulna division Dr. Rasheda Sultana told BSS today.
The 21,372 recovered COVID-19 patients include 6,276 in Khulna, 3,914 in Jashore 3,213 in Kushtia 1,789 in Jhenaidah, 1,390 in Chuadanga, 1,278 in Narail, 1,074 in Satkhira, 977 in Bagerhat, 896 in Magura and 565 in Meherpur districts.
Talking to BSS, Assistant Director (Health) Dr. Ferdoushi Akter said 41 more COVID-19 infected patients recovered in last 24 hours till this noon climbing the total number to 21,372 in all ten districts of Khulna division.
Health officials said the total number of infected patients climbed to 22,730 as 21 new people were reported positive after testing 36.collected samples at COVID-19 Laboratories in Khulna and others samples were collected from two PCR labs in the division last 24 hour till today’s noon.
Of the newly detected COVID-19 patients, nine are in Narail, seven in Kushtia, three in Khulna, two in Jashore districts in the division.
Dr Ferdousi said the whereabouts of the persons, who came in contact with COVID-19 patients, were brought to notice and they were asked to remain in home isolation so that the virus cannot spread further.
She said all the positive cases for COVID-19 have, so far, been brought under necessary treatment while 22,730 others are being monitored in isolation units in different hospitals under institutional supervision and another 21,372 were released.
The district-wise break up of the patients stands at 6,592.are in Khulna, 4,071 in Jashore, 3,422 in Kushtia, 2,041 in Jhenaidah, 1,499 in Chuadanga, 1,398 in Narail, 1,108 in Satkhira, 1,011 in Bagerhat 940in Magura and 648 in Meherpur districts.
“Among the total 22,730 coronavirus infected persons, 2,504 are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals as 21,372 have recovered and 401 died while the rest are undergoing treatment in isolation at their respective homes in the division”, Dr. Ferdousi said.
With no more deaths in Khulna, the total number of fatalities now reached 401 in the division.
“The district-wise break-up of the fatalities remains at 101 in Khulna, 78 in Kushtia, 48 in Jashore, 35 in Jhenaidah, 35 in Chuadsnga, 30 in Satkhira, 26 in Bagerhat, 20 in Narail, 15 in Meherpur and 13 in Magura districts in the division”, she added.
Currently, the fatality rate among the total 22,730 Covid-19 patients stands at 1.76 percent in the division.
Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Rasheda Sultana called upon everyone for wearing masks, maintaining physical distance and abiding by all health directives set by government to prevent further community transmission of COVID-19.
