Govt won’t spare anyone committing crimes: Home Minister

TANGAIL, Oct 24, 2020 (BSS) – Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today said the government will not spare anyone involved in committing crimes.

“We will not spare anyone committing crimes. Police personnel who are committing crimes will also not be spared,” he said while talking to journalists at Tangail circuit house on the way to Ghatail to pay homage at the grave of former Tangail-3 lawmaker Matiur Rahman.

Kamal said the main accused of Raihan murder case in Sylhet was identified and efforts are underway to arrest him. “Hopefully we’ll catch him soon,” he added.

He said police are working with people and police have achieved people’s trust. “Not just during the corona pandemic, police stand by the people in any national disaster,” the home minister added.

When family members were not receiving dead body during the coronavirus pandemic, police arranged their burial, he said.

The minister said police were vigilant against rape, murder and any other crimes, adding, “Police bring to book the criminals or people who create anarchy.”

“The prime minister is working to do what is necessary to modernize the police force. Helicopter will be given to the police force very soon,” he said.

Kamal said police hospital has provided services to patients during the crucial coronavirus period and the police hospital has become a place of trust for people.

He said steps have been taken at the directives of the Prime Minister to increase manpower, efficiency and capacity of the police force.

Local lawmakers Sanowar Hossain, Tanvir Hasan Chhoto Monir, Hasan Imam Khan Sohel Hazari, Ataur Rahman Khan, Zila Parisad chairman and District Awami League president Fazlur Rahman Khan, Superintendent of Police Sanjit Kumar Roy, Pourasava Mayor Jamilur Rahman Miron, Chamber of Commerce president Khan Ahmed Shuvo, general secretary Golam Kibria Boro Monir, general secretary of district community policing committee Saifuzzaman Sohel and others were present.
