Prof Arefin Siddique mourns Rafique-Ul Huq’s death
DHAKA, Oct 24, 2020 (BSS) – Dhaka University (DU) former Vice-Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of former attorney general Barrister Rafique-Ul Huq.
In a condolence message, he said Rafique-Ul Huq’s death has created a vacuum not only in the arena of law but also in different sectors of society and this vacuum will never be filled up.
Prof Arefin, also chairman of the Board of Directors of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), said Rafique-Ul Huq has set an example by not taking any government facilities when he was the attorney general.
He said the nation will always recall the legal assistance of Rafique-Ul Huq which he provided to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during the period of caretaker government.
Prof Arefin prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
The former attorney general breathed his last at Ad-Deen Hospital this morning at the age of 85.
