94 more tested positive for COVID-19 in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, Oct 23, 2020 (BSS)– A total of 94 people were detected positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours after testing 1,176 samples in six COVID-19 laboratories in district. The infection rate is 7.99.
Among the newly detected patients, 76 are from Chattogram city and 18 from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.
The total number of infected patients now stands at 20,559 in the district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, told BSS today.
Among the total 20,559 coronavirus infected persons, 14,978 are the residents of the port city and the rest 5,582 are residents of different upazilas of the district.
The total number of recovered patients from coronavirus rose to 16,078 with the healing of 60 more people in the last 24 hours.
“The healed patients were discharged from different home isolations and Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospitals of the district after two consecutive real-time PCR tests were found negative,” Dr Rabbi said.
Besides, 1,215 are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals in the port city. Despite no death in last eight consecutive days, the number of coronavirus (COVID-19) fatalities in Chattogram reached 301.
