Alia Madrasa ground to be made open for public: Taposh

Dhaka, Oct 21, 2020 (BSS) – Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh has said the ground adjacent to Alia Madrasa located in old Dhaka will be developed as an aesthetic playground and opened for the residents of the respective area.

“There is a demand to open the field as open playground. I agree with the people’s demand,” said a press release quoting as he was saying.

He was talking to reporters after inspecting the playground adjacent to the old central jail, Alia Madrasa and the projects undertaken around the jail today.

After witnessing the projects undertaken by the jail authorities around the ground adjacent to Alia Madrasa and Old Central Jail, Taposh said, “I think it will be appropriate to make some changes in the projects as the Prime Minister wants an aesthetic environment as well as an open playground here”.

Mentioning that the field will be opened for the development of mental and physical health of the people of the area, DSCC Mayor said, “If the jail authorities want, they can develop the ground otherwise the DSCC can develop the field for the people of the area.”

“Our main consideration is that the people of this area can get the advantage of this field,” he added.

Later, the mayor inspected the ongoing development activities of Chitramahal Park in Ward No-35, various areas of Dholaikhal in Ward number 36-41-42 and DIT Market, Water Tank and City Corporation Market in Ward-42.

During the visit, the Mayor was accompanied by Dhaka-6 MP Haji Mohammad Selim, IG Prison Brigadier General Mohammad Mamun, South City Corporation Chief Waste Management Officer Air Commodore Mohammad Badrul Amin, Chief Engineer Rezaur Rahman, ward councilors of the respective wards, Executive Officer of zone 3 and 4, Chief Property Officer Russell Sabrin and Chief Revenue Officer Ariful Haque.
