Indira for forming social movement against rapists
DHAKA, Oct 20, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatun Nessa Indira has called upon field level officials to form a strong social movement against the rapists.
The state minister made the call while addressing a virtual meeting with the officials of 32 districts under four divisions at the conference room of Shishu Academy here today.
Mentioning that the cabinet has recently approved a law with the provision of death penalty for rapists to prevent rape incidence and ensure justice for rape victims within shortest time, she said everyone should work together to exclude rapists from society, educational institutions and families, she added.
Secretary of the ministry Kazi Rowshan Akhter, Additional Secretary Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed and Joint Secretary Md. Muhibuzzaman were present at the meeting with Women Affairs Department Director General Parveen Akter in the chair.
