Hearing on charge framing against Samrat in two cases Nov 30

DHAKA, Oct 20, 2020 (BSS) – A court here today set November 30 for holding hearing on charge framing against Dhaka South Jubo League’s expelled president Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat in two cases filled under the Arms and Narcotics Act.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Kayesh passed the order after taking cognizance of charge sheet against Samrat in the arms and drug cases.

Other than Samrat, his associate Enamul Haque Arman, the expelled vice-president of Juba League south city unit, is also accused in the drug case.

Earlier, on November 6, Shekhar Chandra Mallick, sub-inspector of RAB-1, submitted the charge sheet in the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court in the arms case.

On December 9, RAB-1’s sub-inspector Abdul Halim filed the charge sheet against Samrat and Arman in the drug case filled with Ramna Police Station in city.

On October 8, RAB arrested Samrat along with Arman from Kunjushripur village of Alkara Union in Comilla’s Chauddagram.
Later, they were brought to Dhaka and preliminary interrogated.

At 1:40 pm on 6 October, 2019, a RAB team led by Executive Magistrate Sarwar Alam broke the lock of the Bhuiyan Trade Center in Kakrail here and entered Samrat’s office.

The executive magistrate awarded Samrat six months imprisonment for keeping wild animal hides in his office.

Besides, RAB-1 filed two cases against him with Ramna Model Police Station.
