Chief Justice inaugurates ‘Cause list-Supreme Court of Bangladesh’ app
DHAKA, Oct 19, 2020 (BSS) – Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain inaugurated the ‘Cause list- Supreme Court of Bangladesh’ app today, through a virtual meeting.
Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Haque and Attorney General and President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) AM Amin Uddin also addressed the function, conducted by Registrar General of the Supreme Court Md Ali Akbar.
SCBA Secretary Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kajal spoke on behalf of the Supreme Court Bar Association, drawing the attention of the Chief Justice on various issues in the interest of lawyers.
“The main goal of Digital Bangladesh is to facilitate services using information technology. The Supreme Court has come a long way in using information technology, virtual judicial proceedings are proceeding successfully. The Supreme Court of Bangladesh-Cause list app is a new addition to the use of information technology and easy access to services,” the Chief Justice said.
The Chief Justice also said that the judiciary is committed to ensuring justice and transparency.
Law Minister Anisul Huq congratulated the concerned for launching the app and said, “It is a great achievement to ensure the use of information technology. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, digitalization is going on in all sectors to establish Digital Bangladesh.”
“This app is a rare example in the Supreme Court… This will further accelerate the success of the judiciary,” he added.
Attorney General and Supreme Court Bar President AM Amin Uddin thanked the Chief Justice on behalf of the Supreme Court Bar Association and the Attorney General’s Office for launching the Supreme Court of Bangladesh-Causelist app.
He said, “Today is a special day for Bangladesh’s journey towards digitalization. We are moving further in the use of information technology.”
Judges of the Appellate and High Court Divisions of the Supreme Court and officials of the Supreme Court administration were present at the virtual event.
