Khalid urges BNP to sever relations with war criminals, terrorists

DINAJPUR, Oct 19, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury today called upon BNP to sever its link to war criminals, terrorists and militants.

He said this while distributing government cash allocation for different puja mandaps ahead of Durga Puja at Biral upazila complex in the district.

About BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s demand of holding fresh elections, he urged the BNP leader to make the party politically clean before demanding for fresh polls.

Mentioning that Dr Zafarullah Chowdhury is demanding for interim elections, he said interim polls are held when the incumbent government cannot run a country.

He said when Bangladesh’s economy is advancing well and the country is moving forward at a higher pace, Zafarullah is talking about interim polls.

Later, he distributed government allocation of cash money to 94 puja mandaps, cloths and corona protective equipment.

Upazila Chairman Mostafizur Rahman Babu and Upazila Awami League President Sabujar Siddique Sagar and General Secretary Ramakanto Roy were present on the occasion with Acting Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Jaber Mohammad Shoaib in the chair.

Earlier, the minister laid the foundation stone of development works of Belpukuria Shib temple and crematorium and Durga temple at Biral rail station in the upazila.
