Krishak League’s full-fledged committee declared

DHAKA, Oct 19, 2020 (BSS) – A 111-member full-fledged committee of Krishak League, an associate body of the ruling Awami League (AL), has been approved.

AL Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua and Deputy Office Secretary Sayem Khan today handed over a letter signed by AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader with the approved committee to Krishak League President Krishibid Samir Chanda and General Secretary Advocate UmmeKulsum Smriti.

According to the letter, the committee has been approved after consulting with AL President Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

In the full-fledged committee, 16 have been made vice-presidents, three joint general secretaries, seven organizing secretaries, one finance secretary, one international affairs secretary, one legal affairs secretary, one publicity and publication secretary, one office secretary, one information and research secretary, one co-operatives secretary, one cottage industry affairs secretary, one health and family welfare affairs secretary, one fisheries and livestock affairs secretary and one agriculture affairs secretary.

Earlier on November 6 last year, Samir Chandra and UmmeKulsum Smriti have been elected as president and general secretary respectively in the 10th national council of Krishak League.

On April 19 in 1972, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman founded Bangladesh Krishak League to work for the development of agriculture and farmers to attain economic emancipation.

Abdur Rob Serniabat was the founding president of the Krishak League. He was one of the martyrs of the August 15, 1975 carnage.
