GAIBANDHA, Oct 18, 2020(BSS)- Secretary of the Rural Development (LGRD) and Cooperatives division Md. Rezaul Ahsan today laid special emphasis on massive plantation of trees for protecting ecological balance.
“Not only a tree can play a vital role to change the economic condition it also contributes nutrition for building a sound and healthy body”, he also said.
The Rural Development and Cooperatives Secretary Rezaul said this while addressing a function on distribution of different species of saplings among 420 beneficiaries of a project titled “Gaibandha Integrated Rural Poverty Eradication project” of Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB) at the hall room of SKS INN at Radaha Krishnapur under Sadar upazila of the district today as the chief guest.
Deputy Director of BRDB here Abdus Sabur presided over the function .
The secretary also urged the beneficiaries to plant the saplings properly and take care of it like own children to get output from the trees.
Earlier, Rezaul also distributed certificates, cheques of loan, and onion seed to the beneficiaries of the project as the chief guest and asked them to utilize those to attain the cherished goals of the project.
