Road accident kills 2 in Shibganj
CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Oct 18, 2020 (BSS)- Two persons were killed and two others injured in a road accident on the Chapainawabganj-Sonamasjid highway in Sonamasjid area here this morning.
The deceased were identified as Masrufa Begum, 22, wife of Rajab Ali of Char Basudebpur under Chapainawabganj sadar upazila and her younger sister Khabiba Khatun, 17.
Masrufa’s husband Rajab Ali, 29, a member of Bangladesh Army and their only minor child Maisha, 2, were injured in the incident.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shibganj thana Shamsul Alam Shah said the accident occurred when a Sonamasjid-bound truck hit Rajab’s motorcycle from behind in the area as they were going to Sonamasjid for a family visit by the motorcycle, leaving Masrufa dead on the spot and injuring others.
The injured were taken to Shibganj Upazila Health Complex. Khabiba succumbed to her injuries on the way to the hospital, the OC added.
Being informed, police of Shibganj thana rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies.
A case was filed in this connection.
