55 more tests positive for COVID-19 in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, Oct 18, 2020 (BSS)– A total of 55 people were detected positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours after testing 614 samples at six COVID-19 laboratories in the district.
Among the newly detected patients, 48 are from Chattogram city and seven from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.
The total number of infected patients now stands at 20,110 in the district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, told BSS today.
Among the total 20,110 coronavirus infected people, 14,613 are the residents of the port city and the rest 5,547 are the inhabitants of different upazilas of the district.
The total number of recovered patients from the lethal virus rose to 15,772 with the healing of 91 more people in the last 24 hours.
“The healed patients were discharged from different home isolations and Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospitals of the district after two consecutive real-time PCR tests were found negative,” the health official said.
Besides, 1,254 are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals in the port city and 290 died in the city and district, he continued.
“The percentage of recovery rate now stands at 78.46 percent in the district,” Dr Rabbi added.
