Murad for using every inch of land for cultivation
DHAKA, Oct 17, 2020 (BSS)- State Minister for Information Dr Md Murad Hassan today urged all to utilize every inch of land for cultivation to take agriculture forward.
“Agriculture and farmers are one of our livelihoods. The contribution of the agricultural sector in achieving food self-sufficiency in this small country of 20 crore people is undeniable. In this country, every inch of land has to be cultivated to take agriculture forward,” he said.
The state minister said this while distributing vegetables produced on the cultivated land under the programme ‘One inch of land will not remain uncultivated’ on the vast uncultivated land near the Sarishabari Matiur Rahman railway station.
Besides, the agricultural sector is also making a huge contribution to meeting the demand for protein and non-vegetarian food, he said, adding that farmers must come forward to improve their lot.
He said the present government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is constantly working to achieve the goal of agricultural development.
