36, including drug traders held in Dinajpur
DINAJPUR, July 4, 2018 (BSS)- Law enforcers, in special drives arrested 36
persons including 16 drug traders from different areas of the district in
last 12-hour ending at 8am this morning.
Law enforcers also seized 3,000 pieces of cow fattening tablets and 150
bottles of Phensidyl during the drives.
Police said they were picked up from different areas of the district on
different charges.
During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested 10 persons including six
drug traders, Biral Thana police arrested two persons, Birampur Thana police
arrested two persons, Bochaganj Thana police arrested three persons,
Chirirbandar Thana police arrested two persons, Birganj Thana police arrested
two drug traders, Nawabganj Thana police arrested three persons, Phulbari
Thana police arrested four drug traders, Parbatipur Thana police arrested two
persons and Ghoraghat Thana police arrested two persons.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with
different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.
Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive detained
four drug traders with 3,000 pieces of cow fattening tablets and 150 bottles
of Phensidyl around 11pm from Hili Railway Station in Hakimpur upazila of the
district.
Later, the detained persons were handed over to the Hakimpur Thana police,
BGB said.
The arrested persons were sent to jail.
