Federation Cup to begin December 19

DHAKA, Oct 15, 2020 (BSS) – The Federation Cup football will begin from December 19, the decision was taken in a Professional Football League Committee’s (PFLC) meeting held at BFF Bhaban today.

It was the first meeting of the standing committee of Bangladesh Football Federation’s (BFF) after the executive committee elected in the October 3 BFF polls.

The meeting, which was chaired by PFLC’s chairman and BFF senior vice president Abdus Salam Murshedy, also fixed the date of inter club players’ transfer scheduled to be held from November 1 to December 15.

In the new football season of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2020-21, maximum four foreign players will be allowed to register for the club. Among the four foreign players one player must be an Asian.

As the last season of BPL abandoned, so the players will have to play their old clubs. But the club can be changed through mutual negotiation between the two parties. The clubs, which don’t want to keep players, must disclose their names of players by October 30.

Three or four out of six venues for the BPL 2020-21 season will be finalised in the PFLC’s next meeting through observing the stadiums located in Dhaka and its adjoining area.

The stadiums are Bangabandhu National Stadium, Bangladesh Army Stadium, Shaheed Borkot Stadium, Gazipur, Moslem Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium, Narsingdi, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan and Comilla District Stadium.
