Javed urges Saudi businessmen, investors to invest in Bangladesh

DHAKA, Oct 15, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Dr Mohammad Javed Patwary has called upon Saudi businessmen and investors for investing in Bangladesh.

He made the call at a meeting with Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Royal Commission for Jubail of Saudi Arabia Mustafa Al-Mahdi at the latter’s office in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, said a press release here today.

Senior officials of the Royal Commission, Deputy Mission Chief of Bangladesh in Riyadh SM Anisul Haque, Economic Minister Dr Abul Hasan, Economic Counsellor Murtaza Julkarnine Noman and First Secretary Mohammed Fokhrul Islam were present at the meeting, among others.

During the meeting they discussed different bilateral issues, including exchanging knowledge and experience of the Royal Commission with Bangladesh’s economic authorities like Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA).

Dr Javed requested the Royal Commission CEO for offering scholarships for Bangladeshi students at technical institutes under the commission in Saudi Arabia.

Mustafa Al-Mahdi welcomed Dr Javed at the Royal Commission and acknowledged the contributions of Bangladeshi migrant workers at different sectors in Saudi Arabia.

Later, the Bangladesh ambassador visited the Royal Commission and learned about the history and different aspects of the commission.

The Jubail Royal Commission has been playing an important role in the production and marketing of oil in Saudi Arabia.
