World Standards Day Observed in Khulna

KHULNA, Oct 14, 2020 (BSS) – The 51st ‘World Standards Day’-2020 was celebrated here today highlighting the importance of the main theme of the day “Standard for World Protection”.

Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) , Khulna organized a meeting marking the 51st ‘World Standards Day’ at BSTI Regional office in
Khalishpur here today.

Additional Divisional Commissioner (Development) Sayed Robiul Alam virtually attended the meeting as the chief guest with Director of BSTI Khulna Region engineer S M Ishak Ali in the chair.

The chief guest said, BSTI is playing important role in providing the desired services to the people through formulation and development of the standard of products and services.

He also said that production of goods with ensuring international quality is a must to implement the Vision-2021 and Vision-2041.

“It is essential to follow the international standards in all fields, including production, marketing and service delivery,” Rabiul added.

Director of BSTI engineer S M Ishak Ali said, “BSTI is playing efficient, accountable and responsible role in attaining the confidence of the people.

President of Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB) in Khulna Advocate Md. Enayet Ali, Director of the Department of Environment Saifur Rahman Khan addressed as special guests.

Officials and representatives of local government bodies, among others, addressed it.
