DHAKA, Oct 14, 2020 (BSS) – The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges today recommended taking steps for security of the Itna-Mithamoin-Astagram highway, now making huge impression on people.
The recommendation was made at the 7th meeting of the committee held at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban with its Chairman Md Akabbar Hossain in the chair, said a press release.
Construction of Metrorail has started in full-swing with its workers doing their jobs maintaining safety guidelines, the meeting was told.
Committee members Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader took part in the meeting online while other members Enamul Hoque, M Hashibur Rahman Swapon, M Abu Jahir, Rejwan Ahmed Tawfik, Sheikh Salahuddin, Sayed Abu Hossain and Rabeya Alim were present.
The meeting also discussed about the present status of 23 development projects under the Dhaka Zone Road and Highway Department (RHD). The committee recommended completing the projects in time.
Senior officials concerned were also present.
