E-service campaign begins in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Oct 14, 2020(BSS) – A month-long e-service campaign began in the district as elsewhere in the country on Saturday amid much enthusiasm.

The theme of the campaign is “Barchhe Sebar Bohor, Gram Hobe Shahar”.

Marking the campaign, Kamarjani Union Digital Centre under Sadar upazila has taken initiatives to provide various e-services to the people.

The e-services include medical visa, appointment of the doctors, mobile banking, agriculture information service, results of examinations and online course for open reading.

On October 11 Kamarjani Union Parishad chairman Abdus Salam Jakir formally inaugurated the campaign as the chief guest.

General secretary of Union Awami League Mohiul Islam, head teacher of Kamarjani Merchants’ High School Md. Faruqul Islam addressed the inaugural ceremony, among others, while panel UP chairman Sekendar Ali presided over the function.

UP chairman Abdus Salam Jakir in his speeches said, the union digital centers (UDC) set up by the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have been playing a significant role to provide e-services at the grass root people level of the country.

The UDCs have become more popular to the people as they were delivering e-services to the people in terms of better access to information.

The chairman also urged the people to visit the UDC and take e-services from from it as per their requirement.

A large number of people from all walks of life attended the programme.
