Five Cigarette retailers fined in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI, July 4, 2018 (BSS)- Five cigarette retailers were fined here yesterday afternoon on charge of their violation of Tobacco Control Law.
District Administration and Civil Surgeon office jointly conducted a mobile court in Haragram Bazar and its adjacent areas under Rajpara Police Station here.
The court found many retailers displaying advertisement of cigarette randomly defying the law.
Executive Magistrate of the court Rahima Sultana Bushra fined five retailers Taka 1,700. The court also destroyed huge advertisement items there.
“We will conduct more mobile courts to stop all sorts of tobacco promotion related advertisements, publicity and patronization to protect the young generation from bad effects of smoking and other tobacco products,” said the executive magistrate.
