Gaibandha flood victims get 1000 BDRCS food packages.
GAIBANDHA, OCT 13, 2020 (BSS)- A total of 1000 flood affected poor and distressed families of two unions under Sadar upazila of the district got food packages as relief from Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) today.
The food packages were distributed among the flood hit families of Malibari and Gidari unions under Sadar upazila under the arrangement of BDRCS Gaibandha unit office in cooperation with Grameen Phone, the leading mobile operator with highest number of subscribers & widest network in Bangladesh.
Of the total, 500 flood affected people of Malibari union of the upazila received the food packages in a function held on the premises of union parishad complex this morning.
Secretary of BDRCS, Gaibandha unit Rezaul Karim Reza formally inaugurated the food package distribution among the flood victims as the chief guest and member of the executive committee of the unit Mridul Mostafiz Jhantu was present at the event as special guest.
Each flood victims got rice, pulse, oil, sugar, salt, semolina (suji) from the unit.
On the other hand, 500 flood victims of Gidari union of the upazila also received food packages from the unit this noon .
Secretary of BDRCS, Gaibandha unit Rezaul Karim Reza and member of the executive committee of the unit Mridul Mostafiz Jhantu distributed the food packages as chief guest and special guest respectively.
Unit level officer Pavel Rahman, social workers, the volunteers, and journalist were present on the occasion.
After getting food packages, the beneficiaries were happy and expressed their gratitude to the BDRCS for standing beside them with relief materials
