Prof Dr Hosneara takes charge as KU pro-VC
KHULNA, Oct 12, 2020(BSS)- Professor Dr Hosneara of the Chemistry Department of Khulna University (KU) took over the charge as Pro-Vice Chancellor (VC) of the university this noon.
Earlier, on October 12, President M Abdul Hamid, also the Chancellor of the university, appointed her as the pro-VC of the university for four-year tenure under 13(1) rules in 1990 of KU Act, said a KU press release today.
A gazette, signed by Senior Assistant Secretary of Education Ministry Nilima Afroz, has reached the KU authorities this morning.
Prof Dr Hosneara is the fifth and the first woman pro-VC since KU history, the release added.
Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Md Fayequzzaman, Treasurer Prof Sadhan Ranjan Ghosh and Dean, Registrar and Head of the different Departments of the KU have congratulated President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for appointing Dr Hosneara as the KU Pro-VC.
