CHATTOGRAM, Oct 12, 2020 (BSS)– A total of 90 people were detected positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours after testing 972 samples at five COVID-19 laboratories in the district.
Among the newly detected patients, 80 are from Chattogram city and 10 from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.
The total number of infected patients now stands at 19,648 in the district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, told BSS today.
Meanwhile, the total number of recovered patients from the deadly coronavirus rose to 15,627 with the curing of 66 more people in the last 24 hours in Chattogram district.
“The recovered patients were discharged from different home isolations and Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospitals of the district as two consecutive real-time PCR tests were found negative,” Dr Rabbi said.
Besides, 1,241 are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals in the port city and 289 died in the city and district, the health official added.
“The percentage of recovery rate stands at 79.56 percent in the district,” Dr Rabbi further mentioned.
