CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Oct 12, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 750 patients have, so far, recovered from COVID-19 in the district.
The 750 recovered COVID-19 patients include 407 of sadar upazila, 171 of Shibganj upazila, 59 of Gomostapur upazila, 52 of Nachole upazila and 61 of Bholahat upazila.
According to the Chapainawabganj Civil Surgeon’s office sources, a total of 6,586 samples in which 3,135 samples in Sadar upazila, 1,182 in Shibganj upazila, 814 in Gomostapur upazila, 717 in Nachole upazila and 738 in Bholahat upazila were collected.
Of them, 782 people in which 432 in Sadar upazila, 175 in Shibganj upazila, 61 in Gomostapur upazila, 52 in Nachole upazila and 61 people in Bholahat upazila were tested positive for COVID-19, the sources added.
93 collected samples are yet to be tested, the sources further added.
A total of 14 people died of COVID-19 in the district, of them 10 in Sadar upazila, three in Shibganj upazila and another in Bholahat upazila, the sources said.
Civil Surgeon (CS) of the district Dr. Jahid Nazrul Chowdhury said, the overall COVID situation has been under control in the district but the second wave of the virus is feared from coming November.
He added that all must wear mask outside the house and maintain health-code to remain safe.
