Woman assaulted in Noakhali: two accused placed on remand
NOAKHALI, Oct 8, 2020 (BSS) – A court here today placed accused Kalam on ten-day remand while another accused Shaed on two day remand for assaulting a woman after undressing her in Begumganj Upazila of the district.
Chief Judicial Magistrate of Noakhali Mashfiqul Haque passed the order on Thursday. Sub Inspector Mostak Ahamed, also the Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, confirmed the incident.
Earlier, police produced the accused before the court and filed petition seeking twenty-one day remand for Kalam in three cases and four -day remand for Mainuddin Shaed in two cases.
On Sunday (October 4) and Tuesday (October 6), the 35-year-old assaulted woman filed three cases with Begumganj Model Police Station.
One is under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, another under Pornography Control Act and the third one was a rape case.
Ten people have so far been arrested in the three cases filed in connection with the incident.
