‘Cyber Security Help Desk’ to provide help for hacked FB account: Palak

DHAKA, Oct 8, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak has said ‘Cyber Security Help Desk’ is being set up under ICT division to provide technical and legal assistance for hacked Facebook (FB) accounts.

The minister said this while addressing a webinar titled ‘Awareness of Girls in digital security’ on Thursday (October 8), an official release said.

Palak urged students to be very careful with passwords on the internet and sharing content on social media.

He also urged students not to accept friend requests without verification of identity.

About 70 percent of the victims of cybercrimes in the country are teenage girls, Palak said, adding: “If you are a victim of cybercrime, you can call the National Emergency Service number 999 to get help from police.

Palak also urged guardians to remain watchful about their children’s activities on digital platforms.

CCA Deputy Controller (Cyber Crime and Security) Hasina Begum presented the keynote paper on cyber security related issues in the webinar.

ICT division’s Senior Secretary NM Ziaul Alam, Controller of CCA Abu Sayeed Chowdhury and Singra Damdama Pilot School and College Principal Anwar Islam Anu joined the webinar, among others.
