Five members of snatching gang held in Sylhet
SYLHET, Oct 7, 2020 (BSS) – Police have arrested five members of a snatching gang in Sylhet for their alleged involvement with a cement-laden truck hijack.
The arrestees were identified as Md. Suhel Rana, 45, Mainul Islam, 30, Shafi Ahmed, 40, Rumon Miah, 30, and Mubarak Hossain, 26.
Police said a group of miscreants snatched a truck with 300 sacks cement and its driver on Tuesday.
On a tip off, a team of police led by Deputy Commissioner of SMP Ajbahar Ali Sheikh conducted a drive and rescued the driver and the truck from Sheikhghat area this noon.
Later, police arrest them from different areas in the city.
A case was filed by truck owner against seven members of snatcher group with Sylhet airport police station.
