1 held with 7210 kg VGF rice in Jamalpur
JAMALPUR, Oct 7, 2020 (BSS)- Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) recovered 7210 kilograms (kg) rice of vulnerable Group Feeding programme and arrested a businessman in Madarganj Upazila on Tuesday night.
The arrested man was identified as Bulbul Hossain, son of Md Abul Hossain Bepari at village Nagor in Adarvita Union under Madarganj Upazila of the district.
RAB- 14 sources said acting on a tip off, a team of the elite force raided the go down of Bulbul Hossain at Adarvita Bazar in the Upazila and recovered 7210 kgs of rice hidden in 117 sacks .
RAB arrested Bulbul for hoarding the rice, which were allotted for VGF programme for selling in black market.
A case was registered with Madarganj Police station in this regard.
