Two die in Habiganj thunderbolt strike
HABIGANJ, Oct 6, 2020 (BSS) – Two people, including a minor boy, died after being hit by a thunderbolt in a haor at Ajmiriganj upazila of the district today.
The deceased were identified as Mojammel Mia, 45, and Shuvo, 12. Both were the residents ofJalshukhaEsubpur village under the upazila.
Officer-in-charge of Ajmiriganj police station Md Mosharrof Hossain Tarofder said they were struck by a thunderbolt while catching fish during rain in the haor adjacent to their village. They were taken to Habiganj Sadar Hospital where on duty doctor declared them dead.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Motiur Rahman said their family would get financial assistance.
