Two more held over sexual assault on Noakhali woman
NOAKHALI, Oct 06, 2020 (BSS) – Police, in an overnight raid, today arrested two more persons, including Ekhlaspur Union Parishad (UP) member, for their alleged involvement in sexual assault on a woman in Begumganj upazila here.
Begumganj Circle Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shahjahan Sheikh, said the fugitive accused Mohammad Saju, 21, was arrested from Shahbagh area in the capital at around 2am today while Union Parishad (UP) member Moazzem Hossain Sohag was arrested from his village Joykrishnapur at around 12:30 pm.
Meanwhile, Badal, the main accused in the case arrested by the RAB from Dhaka, was handed over to Begumganj Model Police Station last evening.
Last Sunday (October 4) night, the abused woman filed two cases against nine people under the Women and Child Abuse Act and the Pornography Control Act at Begumganj Model Police Station.
