Met office predicts rainfall with thundershowers

DHAKA, Oct 6, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers at many parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9am today.

“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Sylhet, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at some places over the country,” said a met office bulletin today.

Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.

Country’s highest temperature on Monday was recorded 35.2 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi and today’s lowest temperature 23.6 degrees Celsius at Tangail.

The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 105 millimeters (mm) at Sylhet.

The sun sets at 5:41 pm today and rises at 5:53 am tomorrow in the capital.
